According to research by the American technology-real estate giant Zillow, installing solar panels on the roof of a house increases its market value by at least 4%.
These data were obtained by analyzing all sales in a certain period, comparing the same properties with or without solar installations. In addition, a survey was conducted, according to the results of which as many as 80% of real estate buyers declared that the energy independence of the house is a very important factor when choosing them. In other words, not only are buyers willing to pay more for a house with a solar roof, but it will also be much easier and faster to sell if they choose to do so. And all of the above comes with the fact that investing in a solar installation costs much less than what it will alone, in money, increase the the house value.
Due to the real desire of property owners for energy independence and environmental protection, and perhaps for financial gain, more and more of them decide to install solar panels. According to data from the Bundesnetzagentur (German Federal Network Agency), there is a real boom in new solar installations in that country. In October 2023, 1.23 GW of new solar systems were installed, marking 8 consecutive months of more than 1 GW installed. A total of 14 GW of new photovoltaic systems could be achieved during this year.
Most of the new capacity during the first 10 months was installed in the region of Bavaria - 2.87 GW, followed by 1.79 GW in North Rhine-Westphalia and 1.53 GW in Baden-Württemberg.
